Position Overview
Aspire Public Schools operates a network of high-performing, college preparatory charter schools serving scholars across California. Founded in 1998 to transform inequitable racial, social, and gender outcomes, Aspire is one of the largest and most forward-thinking open-enrollment public charter school systems in the nation. The Regional Operations Manager plays a vital role by ensuring regional operational compliance, spearheading charter renewal efforts, designing and executing professional development for site-based operations teammates, and building a community of practice among Business Managers. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Charter Renewal process by managing timelines, project plans, data analysis, content development, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Manage year-round student recruitment and enrollment, including reporting, data analysis, and partnership with marketing and community outreach teams.
- Support and coach Business Managers through selection, operational systems review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, authorizer, and Aspire standards by managing SARC, SSC, ELAC requirements, and local grant funding opportunities.
- Lead COVID prevention policy assessments, advise on mitigation strategies, and provide direct consultation to site leaders.
- Guarantee compliance with Independent Studies requirements for hours, attendance, and contracts.
- Manage facilities concerns as the liaison between school site leaders and landlords, including emergency facility matters.
- Embody and support Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, and values, including antiracism and ethical behavior.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record in dismantling racism and other forms of oppression with strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Proven capacity to manage multiple projects, work autonomously in ambiguous environments, and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience in education or nonprofit sectors with a strong commitment to social justice and Aspire’s core values.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% regionally and occasionally for conferences or professional development.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience in management and operations.
- Minimum 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in operations, education, nonprofit organizations, business, or project management.
