Job Description

Overview

The Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator performs medical, technical, and administrative support services to contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations and provide a positive patient experience. Clinical duties may include escorting patients to exam rooms, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, assisting in procedures, preparing and administering medications and vaccines, laboratory/specimen collection and processing, addressing quality care gaps, and other duties as directed by the provider. Provides administrative support to the providers and interacts with patients by scheduling appointments in tandem with provider availability, handling non-scheduling calls in the Contact Center, greeting patients at check-in, collecting patient information, updating/maintaining electronic records, handling visit payments, ensuring the exam room has needed inventory, and performing clinic administrative tasks. Secure authorizations for medications.

Salary

The full salary range for the Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator is $50,487.84 - $62,807.04 annually. Salary offers are based on factors such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Requirements

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for staff.

Location and Schedule

This position will be primarily assigned to a work location but may float to various UCR Health clinic locations. The role may require working different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Posting Location

The intended location for this posting is UCR Health's Multi-Specialty location; however, it could also be recruited for other specialty sites.
