Job Description

Position Overview

Under general direction, the Manufacturing Engineer supports the efficient manufacturing of existing products and the introduction of new products through the entire process from concept to customer; with a focus on the manufacturing deliverables that impact operations. Prepare recommendations and analyses for the development of new or improved manufacturing processes to execute sustainable breakthrough and cost out improvements. Establish manufacturing standard time values and gather data for the analysis of manufacturing processes and costs on complex projects, making recommendations based on the analysis. This position is a fundamental part of our engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with proven project experience and the drive for continuous improvement, capable of working independently using highly developed engineering expertise and project management abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mid to high-level manufacturing projects, providing direction, guidance, and engineering expertise to team members.
  • Facilitate project flow with regular contact with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive and project manage major strategic cost, quality, and delivery initiatives with a focus on breakthrough process and technology improvements to achieve a competitive advantage.
  • Implement Capital Projects and track project schedules to ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Lead new product development processes to support product strategy and roadmap.
  • Schedule, develop agendas, facilitate, and document project meetings.
  • Deliver formal presentations to leadership regarding project status.
  • Investigate and develop component material and process recommendations.
  • Interact with suppliers to develop product and process specifications that meet or exceed performance requirements while achieving superior manufacturing capabilities.
  • Perform various calculations and software-aided analyses including mechanical stress analysis, material and heat treat selection, Design of Experiments (DOE), FMEA, and statistical data analysis.
  • Provide multiple what-if scenarios to find the best total cost solution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent years of directly related experience.
  • Minimum three years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum one year of project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean and Kaizen experience.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
