Position Overview

This role is based in Miami/FTL and candidates should only apply if they live in the area or can easily relocate there. A newly created UHNW family office is seeking a dynamic and resourceful Director of Operations to lead and professionalize all aspects of the family’s household, lifestyle, and personal operations. The ideal candidate thrives in entrepreneurial, Gen 1 wealth environments – building structure where little exists, scaling teams and systems quickly, and balancing day-to-day execution with long-term vision. They will oversee a multi-residence portfolio on the East Coast, ensuring seamless service standards while spearheading special projects and initiatives, blending hands-on operational management with strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across all residences and teams.
  • Create and implement Standard Operating Practices, manuals, and service standards across all teams.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between household staff, private office, and family assistants.
  • Coordinate and facilitate quarterly team meetings and update the employee handbook as needed.
  • Recruit, manage, and inspire a diverse team of household, administrative, and project staff while establishing clear SOPs and a high-performance culture.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact and authority across various departments (drivers, chefs, housekeepers, security, etc.).
  • Source, negotiate, and manage external vendors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Oversee large-scale renovation/design projects, relocations, and special installations while maintaining property maintenance calendars.
  • Partner closely with the Principal to translate vision into execution for both properties and lifestyle initiatives.
  • Anticipate needs and deliver innovative solutions that reflect the family’s evolving priorities.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time between Miami, Georgia, and New Jersey.
  • Collaborate with the family office and Finance team to manage project budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
  • Track and authorize household expenditures, service contracts, and capital projects, implementing cost-effective practices while upholding excellence in service.
  • Operate as a discreet and trusted advisor, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and privacy.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in UHNW family operations, estates, or luxury hospitality.
  • Proven success in building operations from the ground up in fast-paced, Gen 1 wealth environments.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with complex travel arrangements, multi-residence oversight, and capital projects.
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable; quick to implement new systems and processes.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
