Job Description

Position Overview

The LOTTERY MARKETING SPECIALIST III is a sales and marketing support role within the Florida Department of the Lottery – Division of District 4 in Jacksonville. The incumbent is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, driving sales of Lottery products, validating and paying winning claims, managing promotional inventory, and performing various administrative tasks. Compensation: $34,760.04

This opportunity is an open competitive chance based in the Florida Lottery Jacksonville District Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster awareness of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program including No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging.
  • Greet players courteously in person and by phone and provide detailed information on how to play all Lottery games.
  • Assist players with prize validation, payment processing, and full/partial ticket sales redemptions.
  • Perform daily and weekly cash procedures, reconciliation, documentation, and bank deposit tasks.
  • Manage promotional book inventory including shipping, receiving, organizing, and performing inventory audits.
  • Process retailer applications, renewals, online site surveys, Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT), and maintain district retailer files.
  • Undertake routine clerical duties such as managing calls, maintaining office filing systems, and updating reports.
  • Coordinate fleet paperwork, maintenance records, monthly fleet inspections, and travel expense documentation.
  • Participate in sales events including the set-up and break-down of promotional displays requiring physical effort.
  • Operate a motor vehicle as needed, including overnight trips, while ensuring compliance with relevant statutes, rules, and policies.
  • Perform special assignments, research, and report preparation as directed by management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License (must be maintained; notify supervisor immediately if revoked or suspended).
  • Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national).
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with players and team members.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capacity to work independently and utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to travel as required and lift/move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems.
  • Familiarity with internal policies, procedures, and administrative practices.
