Virtual Nurse

Position Overview

Uses the electronic medical record and telecommunication technology to provide care remotely in an inpatient setting. Collaborates with patients and other members of the healthcare team to provide admission and discharge teaching. Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and organizational standards and guidelines for specialty care and scope of practice as required by the state licensing board.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to national and organizational standards as well as state licensing board guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or G.E.D. (High School) Required
• Accredited Program for Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• Registered Nurse (RN) with Authorization to Practice in the State of Texas Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree for Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred
• Bachelor's degree for Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred
• Nursing experience (≥2 years) Preferred
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification Preferred – Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
