For more than 30 years, SQA Services has been a leader in providing managed supplier quality services - including audits, assessments, corrective actions, inspections, remediation, and engineering - to manufacturers across all industries. We deliver services by deploying expert quality assurance professionals across the United States and in 90+ countries to support client and supplier sites on demand.

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Documentation Specialist to join our team and support a leading aerospace company specializing in flight deck window production. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, 3-6-month contract with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review manufacturing documentation (e.g., technical drawings, assembly instructions, material specs, quality reports, test data) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
  • Ensure documentation adheres to AS9100, FAA, and customer-specific standards
  • Work with engineering and quality teams to confirm alignment with production processes and regulatory guidelines
  • Verify version control of manufacturing documents, ensuring the most current versions are used
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge as an inspector, documentation control reviewer, junior engineer, or related field (or a combination of relevant education and experience)
  • Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA regulations)
  • Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAIs)
  • Proficiency in document management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 2+ years of experience in documentation control or manufacturing documentation review in aerospace or a similarly regulated industry
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies in technical documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality assurance, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of documentation review, quality, or manufacturing support experience in aerospace or a similar industry
  • Certification in AS9100 Internal Auditing or Quality Engineering (CQE)
  • Proficiency with ERP/document control systems (e.g., SAP, Windchill)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and aerospace technical drawings

Compensation

Salary: $25 - $30 an hour

Travel Compensation: 50% hourly rate for any travel time ("p2p")

Mileage Reimbursement: at the US gov't rate ($0.70 per mile driven). Untaxed.
