Mechanical Engineer (Construction / MEP)

About the Role

We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer (Construction / MEP) on behalf of our client for a full-time, on-site role in Kansas City, Missouri.

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in mechanical and electrical systems within construction projects, including estimating, system analysis, and coordination during bidding and execution phases. You will contribute to delivering high-quality projects through strong technical and analytical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities across project phases
• Develop budgetary MEP estimates using automated estimating systems
• Analyze and evaluate mechanical and electrical system options
• Support bid analysis and subcontractor selection
• Prepare and coordinate MEP scopes of work
• Review and approve shop drawings before submission
• Develop and manage commissioning plans and documentation
• Ensure deficiencies are resolved prior to project completion
• Coordinate with teams to meet project schedules and sequencing requirements
• Contribute to process improvements and engineering solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in construction, MEP, or engineering roles
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in construction
• Experience in construction estimating and system analysis
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage tasks in a deadline-driven environment

Additional Information

Location: Kansas City, Missouri (Relocation support available)

Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 per year

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States
