Position Overview

As part of the Intelligence Systems Division within the Surveillance & Targeting Business Unit, the Sr Principal DevOps Architect drives the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale DevOps solutions for mission-critical programs, ensuring system reliability and robust security.

Compensation: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and maintain scalable DevOps pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with enterprise policies and mission requirements.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform for automated infrastructure provisioning.
  • Administer and optimize Kubernetes-based container orchestration and deployment platforms.
  • Configure and operate AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring availability, reliability, and security of services.
  • Implement and optimize GitOps workflows using tools such as Flux and Helm to enhance deployment efficiency.
  • Manage and configure mission-critical databases, including DynamoDB, to support program needs.
  • Administer NATS messaging systems to facilitate distributed application communications.
  • Leverage observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki for effective monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Lead the configuration, operation, and integration of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and Bamboo.
  • Perform foundational Linux system administration tasks ensuring DevOps reliability.
  • Champion Agile development methodologies to foster cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure robust security practices within DevOps pipelines, including obtaining Security+ certification within 60 days if not already held.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of experience; OR a PhD with a minimum of 4 years. (Additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required at the time of application with CI Poly (or higher).
  • Demonstrated experience in DevOps architecture design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS, and related infrastructure technologies.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Bamboo.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks with the ability to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Big Bang observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki) and GitOps workflows (Flux, Helm).
  • Expertise in configuring distributed systems, including NATS messaging queues.
  • Broad exposure to Agile development methodologies and practices.
  • Hands-on experience in automation and optimization of hybrid cloud environments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
