Job Description
Position Overview
This is a Full-time role where the HH-60W FCF Flight Engineer supports and performs Functional Check Flights (FCFs), Operational Check Flights (OCFs), maintenance flight tests, Acceptance Test Profiles (ATPs), and aircraft recoveries/deliveries in accordance with T.O. 1H-60(H)G-6CF-1 and T.O. IH-60(H)G-6CL-1. FCF flights are required after certain repairs to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and mission capable.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct system checkout during ground and flight operations and perform post-maintenance Functional Check Flights (FCF) as required.
- Perform other ground runs and maintenance flights as directed by leadership and support post-modification flight test activities.
- Accompany USAF personnel on deployments to execute FCFs and related tasks when requested.
- Provide instructional support to USAF personnel for basic aircraft currency (takeoff/landing, instruments, and emergency procedures) and FCF qualification training.
- Execute specific maneuvers during daylight operations with a minimum three-man crew (two pilots and one engineer) to assess all aircraft systems.
- Conduct night flights under visual or instrument flight rules to evaluate cockpit night vision imaging systems lighting.
- Perform ferry flights under day or night Instrument Flight Rules when authorized.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, analytical, time management, supervisory, and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the flexibility to work in a high-paced, at times stressful, environment while maintaining a professional appearance.
- Previously qualified USAF HH-60G 1A1X1/1A9X1 (Flight Engineer/Special Mission Aviation) with at least 1,000 military flight hours.
- Successful completion of a formal USAF aircrew qualification-training course as required by AFI 10-220, with instructor status maintained if previously qualified.
- A minimum of 10 years of directly related professional/military HH-60G experience, including at least 7 years of progressive responsibility in flight operations and FCFs.
- High level of HH-60G systems knowledge and expertise, including detailed familiarity with the FCF process and applicable technical orders.
- Must possess an active U.S. SECRET clearance, meet eligibility requirements including U.S. Citizenship, and have a valid driver's license for company business.
- FAA Class II medical flight clearance and the physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Occasional travel required, with expectations to travel up to 2-3 weeks per year for meetings, trainings, and site visits.
