Job Description

Position Overview

The Renewal Account Manager will work closely with Clients, Sales Consultants, Brokers/Producers and Carrier Partners. Under minimal supervision, you will prepare renewal analysis, assess alternative options, apply carrier guidelines and internal procedures, research and analyze issues, respond to telephone and written inquiries, and assist with day-to-day service needs including member enrollment changes, benefit modifications, and upselling ancillary lines of coverage. You will use your robust knowledge to make independent decisions within established business guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage renewal accounts covering groups of 1-30 lives using CRM tools such as Salesforce, GAIT, Benefit Point, Brokerage Builder, and Egnyte.
  • Establish and build rapport with clients, agency/producer teams, and offices.
  • Address customer and co-worker inquiries clearly via telephone and email regarding enrollment changes, benefits, and eligibility questions.
  • Assist with renewal analysis, assess client needs, identify gaps, and run marketing exhibits to meet client expectations.
  • Interpret and explain renewals, benefit changes, processes and guidelines to clients, seeking guidance if required.
  • Operate internal and external computerized systems to obtain and extract information for tracking, data gathering, and troubleshooting.
  • Document inquiry outcomes accurately for tracking and analysis.
  • Respond to customer queries via telephone or email within four hours.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relations while coordinating with various departments to address customer requests in a timely manner.
  • Research and analyze data to resolve operational and customer service issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and service providers.
  • Provide back-up support in other areas within the department/company as needed.
  • Treat all employees and customers fairly and respectfully while maintaining open communication.
  • Offer constructive guidance to coworkers facing complex challenges and embrace change with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate outstanding judgment, honesty, and integrity in all aspects of job performance.
  • Assist in training coworkers and external customers in skills and knowledge development.
  • Complete assignments on time and actively participate in additional projects or activities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma; advanced education or degree preferred.
  • At least 1-year of experience as an Account Manager or relevant insurance experience, combining education and on-the-job skills.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as requested by senior management.
  • Ability to manage occasional multi-day travel, both in and out of state.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve mathematical discrepancies.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm under pressure with conflicting demands and deadlines.

  • Compensation: Hourly range of $29.21 - $38.94 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on work experience, education, and skill level. Note that the posted range is a good faith estimate and may be adjusted at the Company’s discretion.
