Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, validation, and start-up of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure across regional project sites. This position offers excellent hands‐on technical work, problem‐solving opportunities and includes weekly travel to regional projects.
Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with equipment inspections, system testing, and verification of functional performance.
- Support the development and execution of commissioning plans, checklists, and test scripts.
- Help identify system deficiencies and work with senior engineers to troubleshoot solutions.
- Contribute to system start-up and integration activities across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Maintain accurate logs, test results, deficiency lists, and field notes.
- Assist in preparing commissioning reports and turnover documentation.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and project managers to support commissioning activities and timelines.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates on test results and any issues found.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related engineering field (or equivalent technical training).
- Strong interest in building systems, equipment start-up, and hands-on field engineering.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts through coursework or internships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and willingness to learn.
- Internship or co-op experience in construction, engineering, commissioning, building systems, or manufacturing.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, electrical distribution, controls, or instrumentation.
- Ability and willingness to travel regionally on a weekly basis (company reimbursed).
