Position Overview
Monument Health in Rapid City, SD is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (or Physical Therapist) to join the RCH Physical Therapy Department. Working 40 hours per week, you will be an essential team member providing compassionate, patient‐focused care. UP TO $15,000 SIGN ON BONUS is available for qualified candidates. Compensation: Starting Pay Rate Range is $23.48 - $51.22 (Physical Therapist Assistant: $23.48–$29.35, Physical Therapist: $40.98–$51.22).
Key Responsibilities
- Use appropriate critical thinking and judgment in the provision of care, performing all aspects of treatment based on accepted national, departmental, and evidence-based standards.
- Document in a timely, accurate manner to support medical necessity in accordance with department standards.
- Submit required paperwork for billing, accurate charges and authorizations while demonstrating effective time management according to productivity standards.
- Take initiative in individual professional development by completing all required education and maintaining licensure/certification in a timely manner.
- Provide supervision in accordance with state, federal, and professional association standards.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about treatment, goal setting, and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
- Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) by the South Dakota Board of Physical Therapy
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform very heavy work (exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly, more than 50 pounds frequently, or more than 100 pounds occasionally), with possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues and the ability to work designated shifts including nights or irregular hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy
- Certification as a Physical Therapist (PT) by the South Dakota Board of Physical Therapy
