Job Description

Position Overview

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and address the challenges faced by everyone affected by MS. We fund cutting‐edge research, drive advocacy, facilitate professional education, collaborate with MS organizations globally, and provide programs to help people with MS and their families.

The Manager, Regional Marketing & Communications serves as the marketing lead for a defined geographic region. Reporting to the Director, Regional Marketing & Communications, this role translates national strategy into effective, localized campaigns across digital, events, and media channels while supporting revenue generation and community engagement goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Planning and Implementation: Lead the planning and implementation of regionally tailored integrated marketing communication (IMC) plans, partnering with Development and Program teams to support fundraising events, awareness campaigns, and mission-driven storytelling efforts.
  • Content Customization & Brand Management: Support local tailoring of national messaging and oversee production of marketing materials to ensure alignment with the organization’s voice, branding, and guidelines.
  • Project Management & Tactical Planning: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and on-budget deliverables, and provide performance updates and recommendations.
  • Media Relations & Community Engagement: Act as the primary contact for regional media outreach, build relationships with media and community partners, and support the promotion of key events and campaigns.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor campaign performance using established KPIs, share insights with leadership, and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues across departments and coordinate with vendors, volunteers, or freelancers to ensure integrated campaign delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a management or related role
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively, delegate tasks, and foster collaboration
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify challenges, and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels
  • Flexibility to respond to changes in the industry and environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Midwest States: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin

  • Compensation Range: Estimated hiring compensation range of $70,000-$80,000. Final offers will be based on geographic location and experience.
