Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager of Digital Analytics, the Junior Data Analyst, Digital Analytics will be at the forefront of shaping how we engage with Square Enix’s players and fans in their journey of discovering our games and franchises. By harnessing digital marketing analytics tools and a passion for understanding user journeys, they’ll uncover the stories behind the data and deliver impactful insights to optimize our campaigns and create unforgettable out-of-game experiences. Through collaboration with eCommerce, publishing, marketing, and digital experience teams, they’ll support strategies designed to strengthen fan engagement and improve our reach and communication with players.
The Junior Data Analyst will analyze multiple metrics related to user acquisition, conversion, and consumer engagement throughout our campaigns and digital initiatives, with a focus on the purchase journey and eStore experience. They will set up accurate tracking to enable our marketing teams to better understand user behavior, monitor and report on key drivers of sentiment within our social media channels, and conduct experiments to optimize user experience.
We are in search of someone who is as much an astute researcher as a skilled communicator, using data-backed evidence as their main weapon and business logic as their shield.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize critical thinking and creativity to deliver data-driven narratives that uncover trends, opportunities, and performance insights to support decision-making in marketing, publishing, and digital channels—with an emphasis on our eCommerce business.
- Implement digital tracking through online tools (such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager), managing the creation of tags and UTMs and ensuring accurate data collection across various digital campaigns and web pages.
- Use social media listening tools to monitor sentiment, track key topics, and analyze audience conversations, delivering actionable insights to inform PR/marketing campaigns and engagement strategies.
- Analyze performance across digital marketing campaigns, eCommerce, paid media, and social channels, delivering standardized or custom reports on business KPIs.
- Support the construction and maintenance of self-service dashboards for various stakeholders to visualize performance data based on evolving project needs and business requirements.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to execute testing and digital experiments, analyze results, and document key learnings to identify growth strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
- Experience manipulating large or complex data sets efficiently, preferably with SQL.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio.
- Basic knowledge of social listening tools such as Talkwalker, Meltwater, or Netbase.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent attention to detail with an eye towards data accuracy.
- Good communication and presentation skills, including experience with PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tag management systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager) and with Google/Adobe Analytics.
- Knowledge of eCommerce principles and best practices.
- Certification in Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms.

Compensation: Annual Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000
