Job Description

Position Overview

The Launch Teams Operational Supervisor - Direct Hire is a dynamic, non‐desk role that requires hands‐on aircraft maintenance while supervising LAUNCH TEAMS Technicians across multiple projects. This position demands adherence to FAA and customer regulatory requirements and involves up to 80% travel. You will be instrumental in leading and developing technician skills, ensuring safety and quality, and driving continuous improvement throughout our operations. The interview process includes sessions with the LAUNCH TEAMS panel and LAUNCH HR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise LAUNCH TEAMS Technicians and ensure compliance with FAA and quality assurance protocols.
  • Direct hands-on aircraft maintenance and project turnover across various assignments.
  • Lead crew pre-planning, daily briefings, and scheduling including assignments and rosters.
  • Monitor safety and quality through checklists, audits, investigations, and safety walks.
  • Document quality issues, track performance, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with other departments and attend customer and project meetings.
  • Manage cost controls, billing, payroll deliverables, and maintain accurate tracking of manhours.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid A&P Certificate (A&P License required).
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience leading and directing maintenance technicians on transport category aircraft.
  • Proven ability to comply with FAA, FARS, and repair station certificate requirements.
  • Strong communication, coordination, policy compliance, and computer software skills (Microsoft Office and industry planning software).

Preferred Qualifications

  • College Degree preferred.
  • LEAN Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership attributes with a quality and safety mindset.
