Job Description

Position Overview

The HR Manager role is dedicated to upholding Hardware Hawaii’s principles by orienting, training, organizing, and motivating staff to deliver exceptional Customer Service. In this role, you will help drive our vision to be known as “legendary” throughout Hawaii while ensuring effective Human Resource operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Annually review and recommend improvements to the company's policies, procedures, and practices on Human Resource matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all Human Resource matters.
  • Communicate changes in Human Resource policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance is followed.
  • Assist executive management in the annual review, preparation, and administration of the wage and salary program.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Work directly with store management to assist them with their Human Resource responsibilities.
  • Recommend, evaluate, and participate in staff development initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a human resources system that meets the company’s needs.
  • Supervise the staff of the Human Resources Department.
  • Act as a role model both within and outside the company.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Communicate regularly with all supervisors and managers about departmental issues.
  • Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management with the ability to prioritize workload.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management.
  • Minimum of five years related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities.
