Job Description

Position Overview

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team in Austin, TX, you will serve as a Team Leader driving production activities with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. In this role you will mentor manufacturing team members, deploy personnel efficiently across work areas, and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards. Enjoy a standard work schedule (Mon-Fri) in a controlled production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production activities to meet output, quality, and cost objectives while managing personnel deployment and production scheduling.
  • Address operational and personnel issues during shifts, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and prompt corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update training proficiencies across departments, and assign cross-training as needed.
  • Utilize Quality System documentation to convert raw materials to finished goods and maintain accurate regulatory records.
  • Review and update SOPs, work instructions, and forms to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained to proper cleanliness and operational conditions.
  • Lead special projects and participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizens and JDI’s.
  • Supervise routine inspections and ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and wastes.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with filing/packaging automated equipment and a solid understanding of GMP and compliance.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a production team.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs, stand for long periods, and work flexible/overtime shifts when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience as a team lead, shift lead, or in a supervisory role.
  • Exposure to automation processes and proficiency with MS Office (Word and Excel).
