Project Engineer - Aviation Infrastructure

Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for aviation infrastructure projects – including airfields, roadways, utilities, terminals, hangars, and other on-airport projects. You will consult with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery, applying engineering techniques and creative problem solving to meet project objectives while mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget.
• Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments.
• Oversees the completeness and accuracy of the project team’s work; guides and mentors the team toward overall project objectives.
• Coordinates technical aspects of projects with client counterparts and teaming partners.
• Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Understands the impacts of decisions on technical design and work planning.
• Coordinates work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
• Prepares high quality deliverables that are on time, within budget, and within scope.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation: For Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA – $107,697.79 to $168,450.39; for Nevada – $98,332.76 to $153,802.53. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, skills, and work location.
