Job Description

Position Overview

Join Orange EV, a fast-growing manufacturer of electric vehicles that are better for the earth, people, and the bottom line. As a regional Field Service Technician, you will perform field service activities on local Orange EV Vehicles. You will diagnose, repair, and provide root cause analysis while evaluating data from the Remote Monitoring System to identify performance concerns and vehicle utilization. In this role, you will accurately record all service work, develop pertinent reports, collaborate with customers and third-party service providers, support sales and marketing with technical expertise, perform field upgrades or retrofits, and facilitate tool and parts warehousing. Working with the Service Team, you will plan and execute a comprehensive service strategy for your region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the complete vehicle at a systemic/component level to effectively diagnose and repair.
  • Represent Orange EV in the utmost professional manner.
  • Utilize the Remote Monitoring System and service-keeping system to determine a service plan and prioritize customer needs.
  • Accurately record all service activity in the service record-keeping system.
  • Communicate with customers and third-party service providers to aid in diagnosis, issue escalation, and efficient repair scenarios.
  • Collaborate with the site manager and electrician regarding charging infrastructure logistics, cost, and timing.
  • Evaluate conversion vehicle candidates and prepare detailed condition reports.
  • Support Customer Technicians and Third-Party Service Providers with ancillary repairs.
  • Provide a secure remote location for tools, parts, and necessary items.
  • Deliver Operator and Maintenance training along with sales and business development support.
  • Travel as required for initial training and to meet service team goals and customer needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; related technical degree preferred.
  • 1 or more years of experience in the automotive or electrical industries.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and TEAMS.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing superior customer service.
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Physical ability to routinely lift up to 50lbs at waist level and occasionally 75-100lbs, with the ability to squat, sit, lay under, or climb on vehicles.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Strong written communication skills including composition, spelling, and punctuation.
