Position Overview

This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting the company's products and services and for building relationships with new and existing accounts. The main focus is to help Sysco customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the company. This position may require working some non-traditional hours (evening, weekends, and holidays) to successfully meet customers' needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within the assigned territory.
- Seek and qualify prospects following company account stratification goals.
- Research customer business needs and develop a mix of products and services to meet those needs.
- Evaluate market trends and recommend products based on customer business needs and goals.
- Stay informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ offerings, sharing valuable insights with customers.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding products, prices, availability, and usage.
- Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
- Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, etc.
- Coordinate with the credit department and clients to communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary.
- Manage deliveries according to the transportation department’s routing schedule and troubleshoot any order process issues.
- Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and events.
- Attend and participate in general sales and district meetings as well as ongoing training sessions.
- Assist with the training of new employees when requested.
- Review and analyze daily and weekly reports, including special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.
- Perform administrative duties such as preparing budgets, sales reports, maintaining records, processing credits, and preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED with 3 years of Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales experience.
- Valid driver's license with a "clean" driving record and current automobile insurance meeting the required limits (Bodily Injury: $100,000 each person, $300,000 each accident; Property Damage: $100,000).
- Must submit to pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check) and sign the Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement.
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bi-lingual proficiency.
- Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or as a Chef.
