Job Description

Position Overview

MediaTek's Power Management team designs power management integrated circuits (PMICs) and power management units (PMUs) for a variety of smartphones, IoT, automotive, and ASIC products. Our designs and products are used in hundreds of millions of devices each year. We are seeking design engineers with solid experience in one or more of the following areas: general switching regulators (Buck, Boost, BuckBoost), fully integrated voltage regulators for computing and data centers, hybrid converters (Buck, Boost, BuckBoost), and low quiescent regulators (Buck or LDO). Join MediaTek US in California to develop state-of-the-art power IPs as next generation power solutions and work with multi-disciplinary teams in R&D, system engineering, testing, and customer engineering to bring innovative ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Papers/datasheet study and comparison
  • Behavioral and transistor-level circuit design, simulation, and verification of power management blocks including SMPS (buck, boost, buck-boost…), LDO, voltage reference, and other analog circuits meeting power, performance, and area specifications
  • Perform bench validation to correlate circuit performance and debug circuit issues in collaboration with application and testing engineers

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or master’s degree with research topics related to power management IC design
  • Experience with Cadence IC design tools
  • Familiarity with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters (DMMs), and electronic loads
  • Strong understanding of device physics and device reliability analysis

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary: $120,000 - $180,000
  • Compensation: Actual total compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications, with eligibility for performance bonus, short and long term incentive programs
  • Benefits: Comprehensive health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, sick leave, vacation time, parental leave, 401K and more
