Department is responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across our product portfolio. We are seeking an early
career Structural Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. You will work on products throughout their lifecycle—from initial design trade
studies and proposals through qualification testing to production support—collaborating with a team of 200+ engineers using both classical and
cutting-edge analysis methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs
- Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance with customer requirements
- Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments
- Collaborate with experienced analysts to solve moderately complex problems within program cost and schedule constraints
- Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews to ensure technical accuracy of work products
- Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers
- Generate detailed archival technical reports
- Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions, as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience; or 6+ years’ experience in lieu of a degree. Advanced degrees may substitute for additional experience.
- Experience using structural analysis tools such as PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS, or equivalent software
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret - Current) is required prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of mechanical principles for solving classical structural engineering problems
- Ability to work both collaboratively in a team-based environment and independently
- 5+ years of professional experience in stress/structural analysis
- Experience in structural testing including planning, execution, data reduction, and correlation
- Familiarity with dynamic shock and vibration analysis
- Proficiency in solid modeling CAD tools such as CREO or equivalent
- Experience with Matlab and presenting technical information to external customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities
- An advanced degree in a related discipline is a plus (ABET accreditation preferred but not required)

- Compensation: Salary range is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD, which is a good faith estimate and dependent on experience, education, location, and key skills
