In this role as a Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer) based in Stockton, CA, you will support customers through preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance of critical power systems (UPS, DC systems, inverters, PDUs, STS, and standalone reserve battery technologies). Key Responsibilities

  • Install electrical equipment including small rack-mounted UPS units, various size batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment.
  • Maintain battery cabinets, racks, battery monitoring equipment, DC systems, and other electrical components.
  • Perform periodic and lifecycle-driven remedial services including failure analysis, troubleshooting, component replacements, repairs, and battery string installations.
  • Build customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and upselling products where applicable.
  • Respond to field troubleshooting calls from customers, ensuring rapid resolution of critical issues.
  • Teach and mentor crew members on proper site work techniques, troubleshooting, repair, and data analysis.
  • Isolate hardware, software, and interface malfunctions using test equipment on multiple products and technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior military training in electronics or avionics (e.g., A School, AIT) is preferred.
  • Either a minimum of three (3) years serving in a third-party critical power field service/technical support role with progressive technical proficiency OR a minimum of five (5) years in an OEM service environment within the critical power space.
  • Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles and knowledge of test equipment such as multi-meters and battery testers.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronics schematics and troubleshoot to the component level.
  • Experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.
  • Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, and reliability; capable of setting the pace as a senior UPS/Critical Power Engineer.
  • Must comply with OSHA and applicable DOT standards.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Physical ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds, kneel or crouch periodically, stand for extended periods, and lift heavy objects while working overhead.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods as project requirements demand, with Per Diem provided.
  • Strong capability to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining 100% safety awareness.
