Position Overview

Safety Manager - Trucking

This position at Jaco Oil Company is responsible for the oversight of operational safety management for our fuel transportation business. This full-time position is onsite in Bakersfield, California with business travel to Fresno and Orange County. Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with all safety and hazmat rules and regulations, as well as related legal regulations.
• Establish procedures and actions to ensure the safety of employees.
• Reduce the number of incidents, ensuring we remain one of the safest carriers in the business.
• Investigate accidents promptly, respond to incidents, and develop the required written reports and documentation.
• Conduct safety inspections.
• Determine recommended safety equipment, ensure installation, and train employees on its effective use.
• Lead safety meetings.

Required Qualifications

• At least 7 years of related management and safety experience, including 5+ years in safety management.
• CDL (Required)
• Ability to relocate to Bakersfield, CA before starting work (Required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Safety Certification (Preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Preferred)
