This critical role focuses on the design, development, scale-up, and optimization of chemical processes for the manufacturing of advanced materials. You will be instrumental in ensuring process safety, efficiency, and product quality, applying deep chemical engineering principles and cutting-edge technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and separation processes, coupled with practical experience in plant operations and troubleshooting. You will lead challenging projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the company's technological advancements.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for new and existing products.
  • Conduct process simulations and modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
  • Perform pilot plant studies and scale-up analysis to ensure successful commercialization.
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Ensure all process designs adhere to stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in chemical manufacturing plants.
  • Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP studies.
  • Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to implement process improvements.
  • Manage process engineering projects, including scope definition, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Generate technical reports, documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Evaluate and recommend new process technologies and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Monitor process performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement in yield, efficiency, and cost reduction.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant industrial experience in chemical process design and optimization.
  • Expertise: Strong expertise in chemical thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, and transport phenomena.
  • Skills: Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
  • Experience: Proven experience with scale-up principles and pilot plant operations.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, and process control strategies.
  • Experience: Experience conducting Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and understanding of safety regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence technical teams.
  • Experience: Experience in the specialty chemicals or advanced materials industry is a plus.
  • Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
