Entry-Level Design Engineer

Position Overview

An Entry-Level Design Engineer opportunity is available at Belcan in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time position with benefits involves supporting multiple gas turbine engine design projects while adhering to cost, quality, and schedule requirements. You will drive design from request to completion and maintain effective communication with team members and management through reports, plans, and presentations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform activities including mechanical analysis, design, calculations, engineering documentation composition, component durability assessment, and support for gas turbine engine manufacturing, build, and testing.
• Implement product definition criteria aligned with requirements for commercial producibility and manufacturability.
• Manage and maintain projects in priority status as assigned by program management.
• Maintain, report, and communicate project status and progress to internal program management and the customer.
• Monitor progress against the project schedule and resolve issues to ensure customer project milestones are met.
• Organize and maintain existing engineering records.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work performed.
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team of engineers.
• Proficiency in writing technical reports and customer correspondence.
• Ability to read part prints and interpret GD&T tolerances.
• Capable of presenting information effectively in varied group settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TeamCenter.
• Prior experience with gas turbine engines.
