Position Overview

ClickHouse, established in 2009, leads the industry with its open‐source column‐oriented database that powers real‐time analytical reporting for enterprises such as Lyft, Sony, IBM, GitLab, Twilio, and HubSpot. We are hiring a Product Marketing Engineer – GEO, AEO and SEO to drive discoverability across evolving search technologies. In this role, you will work on optimizing for generative search (GEO), answer engines (AEO), and conversational interfaces to expand awareness and adoption of ClickHouse Cloud.

As part of our first 500 employees, you will be instrumental in shaping our culture. ClickHouse provides equal employment opportunities and prohibits discrimination or harassment based on any protected characteristic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the strategy for generative and answer-engine optimization to ensure ClickHouse appears in AI overviews, featured snippets, conversational search, and other new experiences that drive customer acquisition.
  • Lead experimentation efforts to identify, test, and refine strategies.
  • Create structured, intent-driven content that resonates with both human readers and AI-powered systems.
  • Expand distribution channels and exposure to 3rd-party websites to positively impact visibility.
  • Audit existing content to identify gaps in visibility in GEO/AEO and drive projects to close those gaps.
  • Partner with product, marketing, design, and docs teams to execute the defined strategy.
  • Build and refine analytics and performance tracking to measure impact across GEO, AEO, and SEO channels, translating insights into clear outcomes and next steps.
  • Communicate cross-functionally about strategy, tactics, impact, next steps, and the evolving landscape.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on SEO, content strategy, or web optimization experience with a strong track record in emerging search practices.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in software engineering or product marketing engineering.
  • Fluency in SQL.
  • Technical fluency in databases or adjacent areas such as analytics or observability.
  • Demonstrated expertise in GEO and AEO, with deep knowledge of ranking signals, algorithm behavior, and the impact of AI on search results.
  • Strong growth, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists.
  • A forward-looking mindset with thought leadership in SEO/AEO/GEO and an eagerness to test new approaches.
