We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our advanced manufacturing team in Oakland, CA. This role is critical to the development, assembly, testing, and maintenance of complex semiconductor processing equipment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical aptitude, hands‐on experience with precision machinery, and a commitment to quality and safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble complex mechanical systems and prototypes following engineering blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform precise adjustments, calibrations, and alignments on mechanical components and sub-systems.
  • Conduct testing and validation of mechanical assemblies, components, and systems, documenting results accurately.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Operate various hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeters).
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to refine designs, improve manufacturing processes, and solve technical challenges.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior technicians or production staff as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with precision assembly and measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with various materials, fabrication techniques, and mechanical fasteners.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the semiconductor, aerospace, or medical device industries.
  • Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for reviewing designs.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with vacuum systems or cleanroom environments.
  • Prior experience with electromechanical systems and automated machinery.
