Position Overview

French Bros. Flooring America in Oakland, CA is seeking a Sales Consultant to join their extraordinary team. As a family-owned business established in 1954 in the San Francisco Bay Area, they specialize in selling and installing both commercial and residential floors as well as ready-made window coverings. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service while identifying overall flooring and design needs.
  • Build strong client relationships and follow up with both new and existing customers.
  • Schedule appointments for design consultations in the showroom, at clients’ homes, or workplaces.
  • Keep up to date on the available selection of products and services.
  • Gather space measurements, calculate material requirements, create and present project proposals, schedule installations, and ensure quality control throughout projects.
  • Communicate with vendors to determine product specifications and availability.
  • Provide accurate notes and photographs to ensure clear communication with subcontractors.
  • Utilize social media platforms to build and maintain a professional network.
  • Manage time efficiently between showroom responsibilities and prospecting for new business.
  • Maintain the showroom by keeping samples, displays, and common areas neat and updated.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of proven work experience in retail sales, outside sales, furniture sales, interior design, construction management, or a similar role.
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable form of transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
  • Basic computer, social media, and math skills.
  • Proper phone etiquette, a positive attitude, and exceptional communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to respond quickly to customers’ needs while juggling multiple priorities.
  • Ability to read floor plan drawings and create project estimates (training provided if needed).
  • Familiarity with the flooring and design industry and RFMS (training provided if needed) is a plus.

  • Base Salary: $52,000 + Commission
  • Earning potential of $80K to $120K annually
  • Full time position – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
