Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Automation Development

Position Overview

The Tesla Manufacturing Automation Development Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to build, troubleshoot, and improve custom automation projects at its world-class manufacturing facilities. This role plays a key part in reducing costs, increasing capacity, and delivering quality manufacturing equipment for Tesla’s cutting-edge products. You will have the opportunity to work on a critical subsystem in a demanding, fast-paced environment while building a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, troubleshoot, and improve custom automation projects at Tesla’s manufacturing facilities.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams and senior technicians to enhance manufacturing capacity and efficiency.
• Maintain organized, well-stocked, and properly tooled development spaces.
• Provide guidance to junior peers while working independently with minimal supervision.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of quality manufacturing equipment for cutting-edge products.
