Position Overview
Member DSE is at the forefront of innovations, using data to improve how subscribers experience streaming and drive higher-quality viewing and discovery. As part of the Member Insights Engineering team, which combines analytical, tooling, and engineering capabilities, you will join an interdisciplinary team comprising engineers, designers, analysts, and scientists. In this technical role as an Analytics Engineer, you will develop and maintain data pipelines, tools, and data products that make vital insights about our subscribers accessible across the company. This position directly supports the New Content Experiences team, which is expanding Netflix's content offering to include interactive and timely formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, tooling, and visualizations that make member insights widely available across the company.
- Identify, compute, and validate the appropriate data sources and metrics to measure success in a product area.
- Partner with data engineers to design and implement a data architecture bridging experimentation, analytics, and operational reporting.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to investigate logging and monitor new features in real time to support live events.
- Proactively explore trends in member engagement to surface future opportunities.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Coach partners to self-serve with existing tools and promote scalable approaches to expand data access and insights.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for using data to view Netflix from the eyes of our members.
- Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences and the ability to develop meaningful stakeholder relationships.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the capability to thrive with minimal oversight and process.
- Highly fluent in SQL for big data processing; familiarity with dbt is a plus.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python.
- Experience engineering data pipelines and orchestrating workflows.
- Enthusiasm for exploring and improving technical datasets and logging.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including source control, code reviews, and unit testing.

Compensation
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary – no bonuses. You choose each year how much of your package you want in salary versus stock options. Market indicators, job family, background, skills, and experience determine your placement within our market range. The range for this role is $170K - $720K.
