The Senior Medical Science Liaison Stroke/Thrombosis role is based in Jacksonville, Florida. In this position, you will serve as a trusted scientific expert and partner representing Bayer in the medical community by disseminating and educating healthcare providers on scientific data related to Bayer products. You will establish strategic relationships with key stakeholders, provide technical support for safe and effective product use, and work closely with internal and external partners to address scientific and educational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities: Scientific Expertise – Complete core training, obtain MSL and Therapeutic Area Certification, maintain professional licensure and CEU documentation, lead TA updates and team discussions, attend and report on medical conferences, and identify educational gaps for resource development.
  • Responsibilities: External HCP and Stakeholder Engagement – Establish and maintain long-term relationships with Thought Leaders and key stakeholders, drive local medical strategy, support speaker training and evaluation, and coordinate engagements with internal teams.
  • Responsibilities: Education – Deliver educational presentations to external audiences, respond accurately to medical inquiries with Medical Communications, and adhere to SOP, FDA guidance, and compliance guidelines.
  • Responsibilities: Research – Support research projects, facilitate investigator-initiated research, assist clinical trial teams with feasibility and study support.
  • Responsibilities: Insights – Generate and document HCP and stakeholder insights to refine and enhance medical strategies, and report new compound development information when appropriate.
  • Responsibilities: Collaboration – Partner with cross-functional teams, lead project teams or task forces, drive best practice discussions, and serve as an MSL mentor.
  • Responsibilities: New Ways of Working (Data Collection / Analysis / Interpretation) – Champion new platforms and systems, ensure timely and compliant documentation of customer activities, analyze interaction analytics to maximize engagement, and leverage omnichannel methods for customer-centric education.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree is required.
  • Experience in a scientific, healthcare clinical setting, or pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing or Clinical Development; post-graduate fellowship experience is also considered.
  • MSL experience is required.
  • Demonstrated project management ability and expertise in communicating scientific information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of clinical trial design and ability to critically evaluate medical literature.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build productive relationships internally and externally.
  • Must be able to travel 50+% and manage a demanding schedule.
  • Valid Driver’s License and eligibility to drive a company or pooled vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced terminal Doctorate degree in medical or health sciences (e.g., M.D., PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD) or an advanced degree in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and OIG requirements.
  • At least 1 year of MSL experience or 2 years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or equivalent post-graduate fellowship experience.
  • Expertise in neurology, stroke, thrombosis, or anticoagulation is preferred.

  • Salary: $156,000 to $234,000 per year
