The Sr. Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring that ProMed’s facilities, utilities, and related drawings are compliant with company procedures, policies, and regulations. This role requires a proficient leader who can autonomously manage the building and grounds area while supporting all ProMed business operations through outstanding facility management.
Key Responsibilities
- Autonomously plan, organize, and supervise technical and constructional maintenance, renovation, and remodeling work in coordination with Senior Leadership while considering priorities, strategic goals, economic aspects, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of existing facilities, including location files, utility feeds, electrical distribution, and fire alarm panel functions.
- Provide engineering support for the design, construction, startup, commissioning, and qualification of new or modified systems.
- Establish and cultivate a network of support across functions (laboratory, quality, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate the completion of assignments.
- Develop work habits, skills, and knowledge consistent with a senior-level role.
- Ensure all activities are managed in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS), including the effective closure of audit actions, non-conformances, CAPAs, corrective changes, and maintenance records.
- Oversee the review, design, bidding, and construction of repairs and capital improvements.
- Implement infrastructure management programs to support site needs and ensure repairs and preventive maintenance are conducted for all sites.
- Select and manage outside vendors performing building services such as construction, facility care, utility work, pest control, and lawn/parking lot care.
- Establish a competitive bidding system for building services to ensure fair and competitive pricing for repairs, materials, and service contracts.
- Participate in project planning.
- Develop tools, including dashboards, for easy snapshots and interpretation of the facilities’ financial position and projections.
- Assist with the preparation of annual capital and expense budgets and analyze actual-to-budget variances.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: BS in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering Discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
- Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry.
- 5+ years of experience with site and building mechanical infrastructure systems, building codes, and facilities design.
- Demonstrated strong command of the English language with effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in developing and tracking schedules and budgets with cost analysis, construction administration, and proposal writing.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Facility Engineer and/or Certified Plant Engineer.
- Experience with MS Office.
