Our client, a prestigious international accounting firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Forensic Accountant for a fully remote position. This role is critical in assisting clients with complex financial investigations, litigation support, and fraud detection. You will leverage your deep understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, and investigative techniques to uncover financial irregularities and provide expert testimony. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth financial investigations into potential fraud, embezzlement, asset misappropriation, and other financial misconduct.
  • Analyze complex financial data, including accounting records, transaction histories, and other relevant documents.
  • Quantify financial losses and damages resulting from financial misconduct or disputes.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, methodologies, and conclusions for clients and legal counsel.
  • Assist in litigation support, including discovery, deposition preparation, and expert witness testimony.
  • Develop and implement internal control recommendations to prevent future financial irregularities.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, law enforcement, and other stakeholders throughout investigations.
  • Utilize specialized forensic accounting software and data analytics tools.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all investigative tasks.
  • Stay current with evolving accounting standards, legal precedents, and forensic techniques.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree: in Accounting or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in forensic accounting, auditing, or litigation support.
  • Demonstrated experience in fraud investigation, litigation consulting, and dispute resolution.
  • Proficiency in financial data analysis, accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP), and forensic tools (e.g., IDEA, Arbutus).
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in providing expert witness testimony in legal proceedings is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
