Job Description

Position Overview

As a Financial Accounting Manager at The Boeing Company, you will lead the Midwest Financial Accounting group’s Sales & Earnings and Cost & Financial Structure Management teams. You will be responsible for managing monthly and quarterly accounting close cycles, coordinating Boeing’s Blackline reconciliation tool, and leading a largely virtual team (including members from Tata Consulting Services in India). This is a hybrid position with onsite work required at one of the listed locations in Missouri (Berkeley or Hazelwood), Illinois (Chicago), or Washington (Everett, Renton, Seattle, or Tukwila).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sales & Earnings and Cost & Financial Structure Management groups.
  • Utilize and understand enterprise accounting and finance systems.
  • Manage Boeing’s Blackline reconciliation tool and serve as a process owner for SOX controls.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, supporting schedules, financial analyses, and account reconciliations.
  • Gather data from various systems and tools to assist management in decision-making and process improvement.
  • Participate in special projects and technical accounting matters as needed.
  • Work closely with external auditors.
  • Lead and motivate a virtual team, including members from Tata Consulting Services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance related role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and/or managing projects and/or teams.
  • 3+ years of experience in Government Accounting.

  • Compensation: Summary pay range for IL and WA: $111,350 - $150,650; Missouri: $103,700 - $140,300.
