Job Description

Position Overview

We’re a small but well-established law firm on the Upper East Side seeking a dependable, detail-oriented administrative assistant or entry-level paralegal to help keep daily operations organized and running smoothly. In this role you’ll work directly with the lead attorney assisting with client communication, case management, and day-to-day administrative tasks. Strong organizational skills and professionalism are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls and communicate professionally with clients
  • Manage digital and physical case files (filing, scanning, organizing)
  • Draft and edit legal documents and correspondence
  • Maintain the attorney’s calendar, meetings, and court-related deadlines
  • Handle email correspondence and follow-ups with clients and courts
  • Provide general office support and manage task prioritization

Required Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Comfortable working with legal formatting, filing systems, and document handling
  • Proficient in basic computer tools and online organization systems
  • Prior legal or administrative experience is a plus but not required
  • Self-motivated, calm under pressure, and highly dependable

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
  • Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship
  • Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
  • Schedule: 4 hour shift, 8 hour shift
  • Work Location: In person
