Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity at the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), where we advocate with purpose and passion for our state’s veterans and their families. You will join a dynamic team dedicated to connecting veterans to their earned benefits and offering award-winning services through our network of veterans' homes and innovative programs such as home loans and statewide veteran outreach.

Located at the Veterans Home of California Lancaster, this role focuses on providing onsite Technical Support for various IT systems including basic network, workstation, printer, and telecommunications support. The incumbent may also travel to other CalVet Veterans Homes for support during and outside of normal work hours.

Compensation: $4,935.00 - $6,614.00 A, $5,424.00 - $7,270.00 B, $5,930.00 - $7,947.00 C, $6,521.00 - $8,740.00 D. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary or applicable alternative range.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite Technical Support for various IT systems at the Lancaster home, including support for networks, workstations, printers, and telecommunications.
  • Travel to other CalVet Veterans Homes as needed for IT support outside of regular work hours.
  • Adhere to examination requirements and maintain eligibility as outlined in the Class Specification.

Required Qualifications

  • Must meet the Minimum Requirements as specified in the Class Specification for the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE position.
  • Successful completion and passing of the Information Technology Associate examination to establish list eligibility.
