Job Description
Position Overview
Cloud Engineer (AWS) | Full-Time, Experienced | Department: Information Technology. We are seeking a Cloud Engineer (AWS) to support the development of all required documentation for engineering, security, and operational processes at a large federal agency. The ideal candidate possesses a strong grasp of cloud computing fundamentals (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS) and will help drive innovative solutions within CGS.
Key Responsibilities
- Design solutions that ensure maximum flexibility and scalability while meeting all required security controls.
- Support the development of comprehensive documentation for engineering, security, and operational processes.
- Perform business and technical alternative analysis to aid customer decision-making.
- Facilitate the transition of solutions to operations, ensuring systems perform within anticipated boundaries.
- Implement cloud-based solutions utilizing advanced architectural design principles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 4-7 years of professional IT experience supporting federal government agencies.
- 4+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting highly distributed applications with strong architectural expertise.
- Hands-on experience with AWS (Required) or other cloud services.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering large-scale solutions that have advanced to production.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing fundamentals (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS) with hands-on implementation experience.
- Familiarity with lift-and-shift migrations and cloud migration methodologies.
- Experience in Cloud computing, Networking, Storage, and Identity Management, with AWS or Cloud Architect Certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud services reinforced with architectural design expertise.
- A successful track record in designing and delivering large-scale, production-grade solutions.
- Experience in developing cloud-based solution designs and implementation plans tailored to customer needs.
- Familiarity with lift-and-shift migrations and associated methodologies.
- Expertise in Cloud Compute, Networking, Storage, and Identity Management, with preferred relevant certifications.
