Position Overview
Join our team as a Customer Service Representative in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will support patients and providers by resolving billing issues, handling inquiries, and ensuring client satisfaction. You will handle 45-55 inbound calls per day on a set schedule (Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm), and your work will involve addressing payment issues, clarifying insurance details, and documenting call information accurately. Being bilingual (Spanish/English) and having experience in medical/healthcare/insurance are significant advantages. You belong here!
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming calls from patients and providers regarding payment issues, service concerns, and insurance updates.
- Determine the nature of each call and document the associated reason code accurately.
- Research, resolve, and respond to billing issues in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Support the Reimbursement team by posting Explanation of Payments from insurance companies.
- Monitor patient accounts and perform account reconciliations to facilitate prompt payment and prevent unnecessary transfers to collection agencies.
- Assist with cross-functional duties such as EOB adjustments, bad debt recovery, trailer entry, and cash payment mailing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Strong verbal and organizational skills with the ability to interface with difficult customers.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of previous medical billing experience.
- Additional related education or relevant experience is a plus.
