Resident Project Representative I is a leadership role focused on quality control, project documentation, and staff supervision, while also supporting business development and strategic planning in both New Mexico and Arizona markets.
Locations: Primary Location: United States-New Mexico-Albuquerque; Other Locations: United States-Arizona-Phoenix, United States-Arizona-Tucson.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies or conflicts.
- Maintain accurate daily records of contractor activities, including labor, equipment, and materials used.
- Review construction materials for contract compliance and track quantities to develop pay estimates.
- Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings and document project observations and test results.
- Identify nonconforming work, develop punchlists, and ensure corrections are completed.
- Develop record documentation for engineer review and assist with project audit/closeout.
- Supervise and direct junior Resident Project Representatives, Construction Inspectors, testing services, and subconsultants.
- Support the development and growth of CM/CE&I in New Mexico through marketing, hiring, and training plans.
- Participate in strategic planning and develop client relationships to support market growth.
- Provide oversight and management of construction projects for DOTs, municipal agencies, and utilities ensuring proper documentation and material quality processes are followed.
- Review contractor invoices and make recommendations regarding pavement to clients.
- Write and issue field orders, initiate change proposals for design review, estimate change costs, negotiate with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Project Manager.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
- Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with construction-related codes and laws.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies or conflicts.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of related or equivalent experience, including project management experience preferably with NMDOT/ADOT or other municipalities.
- NM PE license (or AZ license if located in Arizona).
- Demonstrated leadership skills.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

- Ability to mentor and manage staff.
