Position Overview

The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Associate Professor in Aerospace Engineering, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. Location: Miami, Florida. Schedule: Full-time. Education: Earned Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Experience Required: Demonstrated record of scholarly research in aerospace engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and sustain an externally funded research program commensurate with rank.
  • Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in aerospace engineering and related areas.
  • Mentor graduate students and supervise doctoral research.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary research initiatives and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Participate in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Earned Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated strong record of scholarly research in aerospace engineering addressing novel and emerging concepts such as aerodynamics, propulsion, and hypersonic systems.
  • Proven ability to publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
