RN Clinical Nurse II - Medical / Surgical Unit

Position Overview

On our 24-bed unit, you will care for patients with a wide range of med-surgical diagnoses including chest pain, CHF, syncope, strokes, Diabetes, COPD, and postoperative patients. This role provides competent clinical nursing care, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting. You will report to the Nurse Manager/Director and work closely with a dedicated work family.

Key Responsibilities

• Education: Participate in identifying and meeting your own learning needs through education programs and the use of patient education materials.
• Evaluation of Care: Identify expected patient outcomes, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and communicate information to ensure continuity of care.
• Implementation: Deliver care for patients with complex needs by following organizational standards, policies, and procedures while appropriately prioritizing patient care.
• Leadership: Work towards professional growth, facilitate intra/interdepartmental collaboration, and contribute to cost-effective and safe patient care.
• Patient Assessment: Recognize and synthesize assessment data to identify patient priorities, and develop relationships that help families advocate for their needs.
• Planning: Collaborate with patients and families, use multidisciplinary resources, and address cultural and ethnic factors when preparing the plan of care.
• Research: Stay informed by reading relevant studies and sharing applicable ideas with the staff.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.
