Position Overview

The HR Coordinator supports the employee lifecycle at Alterra’s Denver headquarters. This role involves administering key HR processes including new hire onboarding, employment verifications, payroll support, and HRIS maintenance. The ideal candidate is a proactive self‑stater who can handle sensitive information confidentially in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process all new hire onboarding tasks including background checks, I‑9 verification, scheduling orientation sessions, preparing welcome packets, and assisting with workstation setup.
  • Support the HR Director and HR Generalist with administration of employee ski pass and Real Deal voucher programs, including pass sales, replacements, waiver verifications, and IT coordination.
  • Respond to employment verification requests in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize and follow up on multiple incoming issues – including those of a sensitive or confidential nature – and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Provide project support for HR initiatives by tracking deliverables and ensuring adherence to timelines while maintaining communication with HR leadership.
  • Assist with employee promotions, separations, and status changes in the HRIS system by validating necessary information and approvals.
  • Support the recruiting team with job postings and offer letters as needed.
  • Aid employees with general HR inquiries.
  • Collaborate with IT Support and Office Services Teams to ensure employees have the equipment and supplies needed to perform their jobs.
  • Foster a professional and friendly atmosphere to deliver the highest level of guest service.

Required Qualifications

  • High level of proficiency with all MS Office applications.
  • Working understanding of Human Resources principles, practices and procedures.
  • Familiarity with HR systems; experience with Workday and UKG is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a culturally competent manner with a diverse team.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1‑3 years’ experience in a similar HR Coordinator role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
