Finance Coach (Financial Analyst & Finance Career Development)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Finance Coach to support students and early-to-mid career professionals pursuing roles in Financial Analysis, FP&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting, and related finance positions. This role combines strong financial expertise, career strategy, and interview coaching, helping candidates turn financial knowledge into competitive job offers.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial & Technical Coaching
  • Coach learners on core finance skills including financial statement analysis, financial modeling (3-statement models, DCF, comparable analysis), advanced Excel for modeling and scenario analysis, and PowerPoint for investment or management presentations.
  • Guide candidates in building resume-ready finance projects and case work.
  • Help translate business and financial problems into structured analytical frameworks.
• Career & Job Search Coaching
  • Provide 1:1 coaching on finance role targeting, including Financial Analyst, FP&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting, etc.
  • Advise on resume and project positioning specific to finance roles.
  • Prepare candidates for technical, behavioral, and case interviews through mock sessions and actionable feedback.
  • Coach candidates on recruiter and hiring manager expectations for finance roles.
• Communication & Financial Storytelling
  • Guide candidates on clearly explaining financial logic, assumptions, and key drivers behind valuation and business performance.
  • Emphasize structured thinking and executive-level communication skills.
• Mentorship & Progress Tracking
  • Track candidate progress and skill development.
  • Identify gaps in financial knowledge or interview preparedness.
  • Provide structured feedback and personalized improvement plans.
  • Support long-term career growth and confidence building.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Financial Analysis, FP&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Consulting.
• Strong hands-on experience with financial modeling and valuation.
• Advanced Excel skills (required) for modeling and scenario analysis.
• Solid understanding of finance team operations in real business environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex financial concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience mentoring, coaching, or managing junior finance professionals.
• Background in tech, finance, consulting, healthcare, or consumer industries.
