Position Overview
St Hugh's Catholic Primary is a popular and successful school, firmly rooted in the gospel values of love and respect. Through the support of our skilled and professional teaching team, we aim for children to learn and flourish in an environment where they are inspired to rise to challenges, build upon successes and learn from mistakes. We promote high standards of behaviour and learning, encouraging each child to make significant improvement during their time with us.
We are part of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, bringing together 36 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools in Lincolnshire, Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire. Interview date: TBC February 2026. Closing date: 30 January 2026 at 9.00am. Start Date: Monday 1 September 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Deputy CEO to provide leadership in both the Catholic life of the school and the standards of teaching and learning, ensuring the all-round spiritual, social and academic development of pupils.
- Be a practising Catholic with a strong faith commitment and a clear vision for Catholic Education.
- Ensure that the example and teachings of Jesus Christ are at the centre of all activities.
- Place safeguarding at the heart of the school.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of successful leadership, management, and school improvement.
- Possess the vision, motivation, and energy to initiate, lead, and manage strategies that build on the school’s current successes and achievements.
- Be passionate about ensuring that each pupil fulfils their unique potential.
- Exhibit confidence, positivity, and visibility as a leader with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, pupils, parents, Governors, Directors, and external partners.
- Continuously collaborate with the CMAT, Governors, and the Senior Leadership Team to develop a compelling faith-centred vision that drives school improvement.
- Build successful teams and work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals.
- Motivate yourself and others, and adapt effectively to changing circumstances while maintaining high performance.
- Actively listen and communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences.
