Position Overview
Retina Consultants of Minnesota (RCM) is seeking outgoing, patient‐focused individuals to work as an Ophthalmic Assistant. Key Responsibilities
- Engage with patients – demonstrate a patient-centric attitude and professionalism that instills confidence in RCM’s services.
- Gather patient data to complete history and screening forms, including chief complaint details, dates, and time intensity, relaying all important information to the physician.
- Administer dilation drops when appropriate and perform necessary tests, including visual acuity, glaucoma tests, and OCT’s.
- Direct and accompany patients to the appropriate room for care as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Applicants MUST be personally motivated to provide excellent patient care
- Be an excellent team player who works cooperatively and respectfully with all doctors, supervisors, and co-workers
- Efficient and highly accurate user of applicable information technology and healthcare management systems
- Physically capable of working long hours in a fast-paced, often stressful environment with potential emergency situations
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years previous ophthalmology experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Displays a desire to perpetually Learn and Grow
