Key Responsibilities
- Develop hardware design concepts and architectures for electronic systems.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines within a team environment.
- Support design reviews and create comprehensive technical documentation.
- Identify system risks and develop effective mitigation plans.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions, including schematic changes and guiding PCB layout modifications.
- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices and procedures.
- Coordinate with external PCBA manufacturing contractors, internal production, quality, and test teams during assembly, integration, and testing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in low power embedded electronic analog and digital circuit design.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be resourceful, flexible, and actively contribute in decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with effective presentation abilities.
- Experience with common laboratory equipment such as hand solder instruments, DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Skilled in schematic capture and ECAD design tools; proficiency with simulation and design analysis tools (experience with Altium Designer is a plus).
- Familiarity with PCB layout, fabrication, and assembly processes is beneficial.
- Exposure to RFID, Proximity, Smart card technologies, and radio hardware including Z-Wave, Bluetooth Low Energy, and/or Wi-Fi is a plus.
- Experience designing embedded systems for harsh environmental conditions is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent from an ABET accredited institution; 1-4 years of relevant experience.
