Position Overview
Skyworks is an innovator of high-performance analog semiconductors powering the wireless networking revolution. As part of a flat, fast-paced, and globally collaborative organization, the Machine Learning Engineer (MLE) will join the rapidly growing AI/ML team in Irvine, CA to apply cutting‑edge ML and deep learning techniques to real-world engineering challenges in analog and RF domains.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects applying advanced ML and deep learning to design automation, yield prediction, anomaly detection, signal classification, and device modeling.
- Develop predictive analytics for yield and quality improvement and optimize circuit/device parameters.
- Implement RF signal modeling and perform root-cause analysis across test and manufacturing data.
- Own the end-to-end ML pipeline: data acquisition, feature engineering, model selection, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including design engineers, process experts, and product owners from various domains.
- Work on both research-oriented prototypes and production-grade deployments while staying up-to-date with ML trends in semiconductor and signal processing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
- Strong theoretical and practical expertise in machine learning and deep learning, including experience with CNNs, transformers, time-series models, or probabilistic methods.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn.
- Solid understanding of statistics, optimization, and model evaluation techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to semiconductor, electronics, or RF system domains with a basic understanding of circuit behavior, test data, and signal integrity.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets such as sensor, waveform, or EDA simulation outputs.
- Familiarity with data infrastructure and workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, MLflow, or cloud platforms.
- Contributions to peer-reviewed research, patents, or open-source ML projects.

- Compensation: Base pay range of USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year, determined by experience, skills, and location.
