Job Description

Position Overview

Dow is seeking a Production Engineer to support our site in Knoxville, TN. In this role you will be a vital resource for Operations – applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve issues, and enable safe, efficient production of high‐quality and low‐cost products. You will collaborate with operations teams and technical experts, review key process indicators, and drive effective corrective actions. Note: This position does not offer relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the operations team and leverage technical expertise to resolve plant issues.
  • Apply the Most Effective Technology (MET) and utilize process automation to optimize plant performance.
  • Partner with subject matter experts for advanced troubleshooting and document operating improvements.
  • Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses while maintaining a strong field presence.
  • Monitor daily Key Process Indicators (KPI) and review logbooks and alarm histories to stay engaged with plant operations.
  • Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies, acting as the technical expert during unplanned events.
  • Guide improvements in raw material efficiency and ensure compliance with plant operating permits.
  • Support the plant through off-hours and call rotations as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (1-2 years preferred).
  • Background in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
